Follow That Lead

Telephone coaching

Have you ever wanted to call someone to boost your sales, but keep putting it off because you're not quite sure what to say or how to say it? Or you want to contact a decision maker in a company, but don't know their name and aren’t sure how to go about getting it in a professional manner? Or perhaps you are one of the many small business people who are nervous of or dislike using the telephone. If so, then don't despair because you’re not alone. I can help with all of this and more in a one to one bespoke coaching session. These are geared at people without a sales background who want to learn some professional telephone calling technique.

Here are some examples of my coaching sessions on the following aspects of telephone technique:

  • Cold calling

  • Follow up calls - to people who have shown an interest in your product but haven’t yet invested in it

  • A practical hands on session where you bring a list of calls and I listen to you make those calls and coach on telephone technique as we go along. To be discussed and tailored to your needs.

  •

How I work and what the course covers:

  • You will get 3 hours of my time, with at least 2 hours face to face at my office in Sunningdale, Ascot, in Berkshire.

  • I will speak with you well in advance of the coaching session to find out your needs, maybe past problems and current fears, learn about your business and who you are hoping to target. I will also find out what you are hoping to achieve from the calls. This will enable me to tailor the telephone coaching to your needs.

  • You will learn how to structure your call so that it sounds clear and professional.

  • We will also discuss what times you should call to get maximum return.

  • You will learn how to open and close the call in a professional manner so that the recipient should be polite to you.

  • I will give you examples of concise wording that flows well on the telephone and we will adapt that to suit your way of speaking and your vocabulary. This will give you confidence and again will sound professional to that all important busy person on the receiving end.

  • There will be hand-outs to keep so you have all the top tips and wording to hand when you need them. If your mind suddenly goes blank when you are on the phone. Don’t worry. Just glance at your notes.

  • I will also give you some advice on how to record your data and build up a database for future calling in a systematic manner.

  •

I don’t forget about you once you have completed the session. Over the following month I will be there for support if you need me. If you are making calls and need some wording tweaked or feel you could have done something better you are welcome to call me and I will help you with that on the phone. I just ask that you call at a time of day that suits me as I’m usually working on client calling campaigns at certain core times during the day. I would love to hear how you get on with the calls.

If you would like to speak with me about the possibility of doing a coaching session together, and I haven’t mentioned the area you need help with, please just call and let me know what it is. If you like what you’ve heard so far and would like to discuss something in a bit more depth, I would be happy to schedule a call with you. Just email or ring me whichever you prefer. I know picking up the phone can sometimes be scary but you really should find out what I sound like before you mull over if one of my coaching sessions is for you.

Making professional business calls can be very enjoyable and rewarding. I love it. Let me share some of that enthusiasm with you and build up your confidence through knowledge, practice and watching your business grow.
